I needed to get two dogs and one puppy from a shelter in north Georgia, who had been taken by volunteers to a vet in suburban Atlanta - to Savannah in time to me me catching a plane back to Oregon. We have an animal rescue in Longview Washington and had gotten a message about many dogs scheduled to die in rural Georgia thru an animal rescue network in Seattle. I was scheduled for a business trip in Savannah Georgia and found out thru the airlines that I could take two dogs back in the baggage comparment. I arranged for a traveling companion to put the puppy on his ticket - to travel in the cabin. Then came the difficult problem of getting the dogs from Atlanta to Savannah. It just couldn't be done. Gayla was wonderful - she went out of her way to make my "babies" safe on route. They arrived on time for me to pick them up before the plane.
