I was scrambling around and trying to find a pair of gerbils to breed, but I was picky and wouldn't accept just any color. I had been conversing with a breeder of gerbils (registered with the AGS [American Gerbil Society] as I am) and we had been trying to find a way for a pair to get to me. She had been holding a male-female duo of a Siamese male and a Colorpoint Slate female since I was planning to breed for colorpoints in gerbils. I was nervous to ship anything through larger companies so UShip seemed like a good place to turn. Within days of listing the shipment from Fargo, ND to Traverse city, MI at a $100 bid 100boats replied. I was very excited because I was afraid I wasn't going to be able to get any gerbils that were well above pet store quality (which usually isn't a very high, breedable grade). The shipment was booked and within a few days they were right in my house, not a scratch on them and in perfect health. They were not stressed, sick, cold, or anything horrible as such. It was a lovely experience, I probably did save a good amount of money, an exact amount is unknown to me. When summertime comes and I have time to start a larger line of dark colorpointed Siamese gerbils I will know that I can use UShip with little worry.
