I bought the tail end of a 1959 Cadillac that used to adorn the entrance to the Boston Hard Rock Cafe. I bought it over the phone, sight unseen. Now came the problem: how to get it moved from Boston the a container shipper in NJ. I googled to no avail, and then, by chance, I found uShip.com. I was desperate, I was suspicious, I live in the heart of Europe, and Boston is 4000 miles away. I took a chance, logged in, opened an account, and placed my ad. The first reply was way too expensive, then came a reasonable offer, but I could not contact the seller, so the offer expired. Then along came Mike. His offer was not the lowest, but it was reasonable. I looked at his profile and feedback. That made me feel better, over 100 positives. I thought this guy must be doing something right, or he has a very large extended family. I accepted his bid and gave him a call, he seemed friendly. Again the nervewraking problem: send money to a guy you have never seen, will probably never see, who may vanish after you have sent your cash and trust him to pick up your one third of a Cadillac and deliver it, rather than run off with it. But it all turned out well. Mike used his experience an ingenuity to haul the ton of steel onto his trailer, working up a good sweat in the process, he said, and delivered the next day to the container terminal. Thank you Mike, I am truly gratefull. Thank you uShip, without your professionally setup esite I would never have found Mike, I would not have been able to choose him as best of the offers I received, and would probably still be lamenting the folly of buying such a large chunk of metal such a long way away. Thank you uShip for enabling me to move my tail end by remote control.
