My husband purchased a truck through an Ebay auction and needed it transported from Florida to North Carolina. He put in a request for transport bids and they started pouring in almost immediately. What we did not know was that the bids were coming not from the actual transport company, but from brokers. They all made lots of promises and seemed very genuine and professional. We chose a company (Official Auto Transport) and gave them a deposit. That's when the professionalism ceased. After more than a week with no effort on their part to get our vehicle shipped we canceled the order and started looking on our own and found the uship site. Within 24 hours we had several bids from actual movers. We were able to check feedback and felt confident in the company we chose. The truck was safely delivered by Iron Horse Trucking in a very timely manner at a reasonable price. I'm sure there are honest and professional brokers out there somewhere, we haven't come across one and can't recommend using one. Using the uShip site allows you to choose the company that will handle the moving of your vehicle and not be at the mercy of a fly by night broker who forgets about you once they have your deposit. We are still trying to get our deposit back from Official- even though they have assured us twice they would process the refund, still no money has been refunded. I only wish we had know about uShip sooner.
