I was contacted in Athens, AL by a family in Ventress, LA that wanted SO BADLY to buy a Brittany puppy from my Spin Top Kennel. The buyer rquested the I ship the pup by plane. I have sold MANY pups,but have NEVER shipped one by air. I usually require the buyer come to my kennel. The drive was determined to be TOO FAR for the buyer, there were small children to consider. I was DETERMINED to TRY to help this family get a puppy. I had NEVER used a road-service provider. NEVER! But, I googled the internet..ship a puppy..and I got the USHIP site ....I looked at it and decided I would experiment a bit. I entered "some" information ...went a little farther ...then decided to request a bid and see what would happen. (I don't usually TRUST many sites) Within minutes I was getting "feedback" ....I got a SOLID bid for the max-bid that I had presented. I answered some questions and BANG!!I had the name and phone number of a shipper. I called the number and a TRULY remarkable,ARTICULATE GENTLEMAN named Tom Stevenson answered the phone. He was like talking to a neighbor that I had known all my life. We put a plan-of-action into motion. The next day when Tom arrived we had a WONDERFUL conversation..he was wearing an LSU hat in Alabama Crimson Tide territory..we laughed!! He departed with the puppy ...we talked a couple of times while he was enroute. I called the buyer and told the family that the puppy was on-the-way to LA. Approximately 20 minutes before the time Tom said he "thought" he would arrive. He called and said, "I am leaving, the puppy has been delivered safely and is SECURE with it's new owners." Then, the new owners called me. They were SO HAPPY..and the owner said, "that gentleman that delivered the puppy was SO NICE to us. I TRULY did not KNOW that your type of service existed. I have ALREADY told several of my dog-breeder friends about your service, I also told them WE will NEVER have to miss another sale because of SHIPPING. THANKS USHIP!
