After a year of searching, I found the last part I needed to restore my car. A hood for a 1947 Packard Clipper. In other words: Large!
The price was a bargain (just $50 from a very rural home in Pennsylvania) but the owner didn't want a hassle crating the hood and finding a shipper to my home in Texas. I called the local freight companies for a quote to pack and ship my $50 hood. Three bids later, the lowest cost was over $600. I couldn't believe it. There had to be a cheaper way!
I went to the internet to get quotes from the on-line freight companies. Most wouldn't touch something this small 50 miles from a major terminal. While lower than the original bids, they were still high and required the owner drop off my hood at a business address in a nearby town.
<BR>Then I found uShip in my search and decided to post my bid. Not only did my bid come in at $175, but the shipper (who had excellent feedback) offered to go to the owner's house and pick the hood up. His truck allowed him to pack it without a lot of expensive crating.
In the end, I had the hood on my car in less than one week from the time I hit the "Accept Bid" button.
UShip is an amazing service and I can't wait to recommend it to others.
