"Shipping Antique Mini-Bus"
shipping from Albert, Kansas North Street, Michigan for $1,550.34
I purchased a 1949 International Bus based on a KB5 frame from a gentleman on EBay. The bus has a flat-head 6 engine that was not running so had to be winched onto the trailer. Originally I assumed I would just drive down with my pickup, pull the bus onto a trailer and drive it home. After a bit of research I quickly found out I did not have the resources to move this purchase. This was a move from Kansas to Michigan. I intend to take it from there to import into Canada. Not well planned out on my part initially, but in the end worked out well as I was able to find an excellent shipper in Wild Turkey Transport who has the equipment needed to move this sort of thing. Had I decided to move this thing on my own and had mechanical breakdown it may have been much more expensive than getting the professional to do it. Eventually I intend to get the bus running again, body and painting updated and enter it into car shows and parades as well as take my grandchildren to grandma's pool for a swim. The whole experience was very positive as USHIP and Jerry from Wild Turkey Transport were very easy to access and deal with. I found myself checking the site a number of times in anticipation of seeing an update on my shipment. Thanks to everyone for a great experience in setting me up for my next experience of seeing the bus running and taking my grandchildren for a ride.
