Never spent this much before on something we hadn't seen, or with someone we hadn't met. We were apprehensive to say the least. We are from Canada and bought a 5th wheel off eBay from a dealer in Indiana, almost $20,000 less than near us for the exact same one. Partly because it was damaged in shipment, but completely repaired to better than new by the shipping company. So they had to sell a 2012 293SAB as used. We relied on photos and conversations, and gut instinct (we hoped the gut feeling would be right. The seller suggested Uship, which we had never used before either. How do you pick? What information matters? Would you get your moneys worth? Would you get a fair price? All thoughts that we had. Started the process, and the bids started coming in... a little higher than we were lead to believe, so I may have shot myself in the foot and threw out (via the shipping info) that we were told the job could be done for #####, and one guy basically said, have fun with that, and take it if you can get it. One guy ( http://www.uship.com/profile/Portland72/ ), sensing that budget was an issue with us, suggested a location that would make the shipping 500 miles shorter for him, but at the same time only made our drive a couple of hours longer. We read his profile and the fact that he sounded like a hardworking family guy, struck a cord with us. We choose him, even though he was $200 or so higher than the lowest bidder, plus he was the one that suggested the alternate destination. We forgot to tell him the details of the trailer, so when he went to pick it up and read the repairs list, he got freaked and phoned us immediately, to double check with us, to make sure we knew what we were getting. He cared from the get go. He had one situation with his truck and a fuel pump, but we had a day and a half drive so that gave us some wiggle room too, since we were traveling with our 3 kids. We met on time, with not one single problem. We would definitely do this again!
