My actual shipper was awesome to work with but USHIP itself needs to post UPFRONT that most horse haulers require a 50% deposit. I was not aware of this until after I paid my shipment in full. The transporter doesn't get his money until almost a week AFTER the horse is delivered and the service charge added on to the bid by USHIP is too high for the little service that USHIP actually provides. I would not use USHIP for horse transportation again, I would work with a transporter directly.
