I am a disabled person who so wanted to drive from the east coast to the west as I have a year and a half old mix of rotty and german shephard who is the world right now to me...He depends on me and I on him. When Gary put his bid in and called me on the phone I felt that this would be a good fit for me...He was in Ma. at the time and met me on the thruway and picked up my Dakota along with his crate, food, blanket, toys, leashes and a 40pound bag of dog food along with the dishes and bottled water etc...in other words, he took a lot for my dog and immediately bonded with him and gave me time to walk him and say goodbye. After they left he called me to make sure I knew that Dakota was fine and he wimpered a bit but was now settled in for the long haul...Gary took him across the country, stopping at this brother house one day and then his Uncles and then his parents and I must say Dakota was spoiled and welcomed at each and every stop and is a well traveled dog now...not only did Gary take such good care of him, but he called me each and every night to tell me of their travels and how the day went and would tell me where they were going the next day and when he would call me and he always did. He also took pictures of their adventures along the way and made me feel that my dog was not just a piece of property for hire, but a fun and loving travel buddy. He told me a story about being at his brother Greg's house who has 2 children and the family fell in love with my little guy and if there comes a time when Dakota becomes too much for me or too big for me or too strong for me, I know he will have a good home with a family who loves him and could grow up with the kids...I wish there were more people in this world like Gary. He really did renew my faith in my fellow man and that is why I called him a God send for me...He made me feel like I was there sharing the adventure like the time they were in Kansas and he and Dakota ran about in an open field and played like 2 little kids, (see Gary is a grown man, but I think Dakota brought out the little boy in him). So after 7 days he dropped Dakota off to my sister the final destination and I shall be flying out in 2 days to join them and Gary called tonight and thanked me, yes thanked me for the transport of my most precious cargo. And although I am physically incapable of doing the cross country drive, I got to go along through Gary's eyes. Thank you for being there and I will always know that uShip made it happen for me.
