My mother was no longer using her Clavinova and offered to give it to a family member who would use and appreciate it. That meant moving it from Oxford to Milton Keynes. We toyed with the idea of doing it ourselves. It would probably fit in my large estate car but carrying it down a narrow steep flight of stairs looked risky, so we decided to look for professionals to help. To my surprise, we received several bids within hours and by the second day we had about 10, although some were double bids from the same companies. In the end we chose to go with AKP Pianos. Their bid was not the cheapest, but it was reasonable and they sounded experienced in this type of move.
Although they were delayed slightly in reaching us they kept in touch and on arrival made quick work of wrapping up the clavinova and transporting it down the stairs.
The delivery a couple of days later was very smooth - well worth the cost to save the risk of back strain or damaging the clavinova by trying to move it ourselves. If I have a similar issue in future I will definitely use uship again.
