I will definitely look to uShip in the future for my machine shipping needs! UShip has provided a marketplace where I can hire a transport with relative ease. The uShip team was extremely helpful, as this was my first shipment, and they called to see if there was anything they could do to help. I received professional service, with no complaints whatsoever!
I have previously used a brokering service, and had an awful experience. The transportation provider dropped the load after it was scheduled without telling me, and I had to pay the rigger for standing around waiting on a truck that never came. I had no recourse with the broker or the driver, and lost a great deal of money on that transaction.
I have not yet had a negative experience with uShip - and don't expect to - but based on this experience feel that they would be very helpful in resolving any conflicts should they ever arise. Further, based on the feedback system they use, I can base my transport provider usage on their previous shipments, and know what kind of company I am dealing with. UShip is far superior to any fly-by-night brokering company from that standpoint alone!
