After dealing with several auto shipping companies, we were excited to see someone had come up with an idea like UShip that removed the broker from the picture. What people need is a way to contract shippers without the load broker to take the unfair share they do nothing to deserve.
When we agreed to post our load on Uship the company made no up front statement to tell the customer that they would pay a 10% deposit. Then after paying the 10%, Uship tells the customer that the driver has received it as a down payment. We learned that Uship kept everybit of our $328. There is no phone number to contact Uship to ask questions either.
So to finalize, Uship is a load broker that is no different than other brokers.
They take a percentage of profit for work they have no part in. Uship does even less than a regular broker because it's done online, by the customer. Buyer beware. Our driver was great though.
