A series of events led up to the time of passing my Hyundai down to my daughter, who needed it for school by Jan 19th, if possible. I initally wanted to drive it from Pa to Fl but due to the weather conditions and my husband's schedule, this would not be possible, at least til Spring. I decided that it would need to be shipped and calculated how much it would cost if we had to drive it, plus the plane tickets home. Then I asked my daughter to try to find some prices on the internet. She initially found USHIP, and what a find it was!! One thing I learned: Do not jump at the first bid! Hold out for what you want and eventually you'll get your bid cost or close to it. There is an average bid you need to pay attention to or you'll be waiting for awhile! A bid came in as close as possible to mine, and at first I'd turned it down - only to realize they were only getting higher. I requested a rebid and I'm glad I did. Don turned out to be the perfect gentleman and the funny part is, when he was here loading up the car I told him I was going to take a few pictures. He said "For Closure, huh.." and I started laughing - because he hit the nail on the head! He understood the parting of a vehicle from it's owner can be emotional! Needless to say, my car made it in the exact time as Don stated, and before I knew it, it was parked outside it's new home in South Florida. I asked Sarah to leave my old parking lot sticker on it, as rememberance of where it had been for many years. I guess we'll have to make sure we go visit my old car soon...and I can see my daughter at the same time!
