I wanted my newly purchased tractor transported from eastern Ohio to northern Michigan. I thought of renting a trailer and hauling the tractor myself.
I thought of fuel prices, rental, probably a motel, meals, etc. It just didn't make any sense to save a few dollars. I checked with Uship and got plenty of bids. Some bids were much lower than the one I accepted, but the feedback for the shipper I chose determined my choice.
