I shipped a horse trailer from Florida to Michigan. I've never shipped something of this nature before, so I was quite nervous about the whole idea. My original plan was to call a vehicle shipper directly, but I ran across Uship purely by accident by Googling the brand of trailer that I bought; someone else had used Uship to book their shipping, so when I read their listing, I figured why not try a listing of my own. The UShip Price Estimator was so handy for helping me figure out what a fair rate would look like, and it made it clear that when someone offered to do it for $625 that I was getting a GREAT deal (price estimator quoted $782 for comparable routes). The service provider's outstanding feedback rating on Uship put me at ease about the whole experience, as did his great communication both before and after I accepted the bid. It was a great deal for both me AND the service provider--he was taking a boat *down* to Florida and was planning to come back north anyway, so we agreed that if I'd drive an hour south to his home base in Toledo that he'd give me a really great rate. He got to make a little profit on a leg that he originally wouldn't have made any profit on, and I got the flexibility of picking up my trailer at his home farm on the weekend rather than taking time off work. Communication was great--the person who sold me the trailer in Florida also reported that my service provider was professional, timely, and great to work with. I would not only use Uship again, but I was so happy with the transaction that I recommended it to a fellow horseperson on a discussion board that I frequent. She was looking for a hauler to deliver *her* horse trailer, and I tipped her off to UShip, and she wrote back to thank me for saving her $325 off the rates she was getting by calling shippers direct!
