When I moved to Florida I was very apprehensive about choosing a hauler to move my boat. I did not know anyone who had ever done this. I did post a request for reccomendations on www.thehulltruth.com and got back quite a few responses. However, for all I know they could have been the haulers themselves (or thier friends and relatives). One on the responses said to check uship and I'm sure glad I did. Not only is uSHip a clearinghouse for a huge number of haulers but they screen their shippers. Most importantly was the ability to see other folks experience with the bidding transporters. The one I choose, JonMar Transport, had 70 5 star comments. What's the chance this transporter would be a nightmare ? Probably zero ! This is absolutly the best way to ship a boat (and probably anything else).
