I'd just sent a person that I'd never met $500 for his 1993 Suzuki Sidekick. Yes, losing $500 isn't the end of the world, but it was disconcerting that the seller was living out of a hotel and said he be gone in 4 days. I almost didn't make the deal because it was a hotel and because the transporter would need to be there post haste.
Well, the only reason that I'm able to buy Sidekicks and Rav4s from around the country is because of UShip. Normal shipping charges would make pretty much any deal a losing propostion: UShip changed all that and helped me make money. Mainly I was concerned that UShip may not have a reasonable volume of transporters looking for jobs. Well, that wasn't the case at all. Seemed like I received a good bid almost immediately. :)
I accept the bid and then contacted the transporter to explain my concern. Just speaking with him gave me a lot of confidence that if the car was there, then he'd be there to pickup it within the deadline. Presto the next day the car was on his truck and on its way to Miami.
Just a very positive transaction anyway that I look at it.
