John and I scheduled pickup for Friday evening. He was running a little late and called with the info offering to pick up the pets as scheduled. He explained that it would then be a short trip before he had to take time out to sleep. He suggested that the animals would be better off in their usual home overnight while he got sleep and then could do a long day's travel. This was the first we saw how much he cared about the animal's welfare. He then arrived as scheduled, showed extreme care in loading and securing the animals. Unfortunately, between NY State and NM, short of 50 miles from their destination a driver pulled out and hit the front of John's van. He contacted me to let me know what happened and that the animals were all fine, just front end damage to his truck, but it was not drivable. He contacted a flatbed truck to bring the van, with my animals, to me! Everyone one was fine, and I felt so sorry for the damage John's van sustained in the move, but right to my door, his only concern was the animals over the damage to his truck. I couldn't give the man more praise for his fabulous service. This was my first time using USHIP and now that I am aware of it, I will definitely make use of it again. In fact, my daughter is moving her animals next year and John WILL have another customer. John, thank you again, all the critters are doing well (Boo is still upset, though-he still won't talk to anyone-he hates to ride and is still frowning).
