I had been trying to get a 18 mnth old english mastiff from San Antonio to Phoenix for several months. Money is tight and I refused to pay $2,000, or more, to fly her in. My next choice was direct ground transport, but I was still looking at close to $1,000. I found the u-ship site, but I figured that it would be to hard and the prices would be close to the others I was quoted, and who knew what type of person would bring her. This was a 170 lb puppy, giant breed, easy to ruin, and hitting her or pushing her around taint her for life. After running in circles, deciding to go fetch her myself, gas prices skyrocketed, and my car started to act up... So back to square one, I decided to give u-ship a try, and if I could get a better rate, than doing it myself, I would.
Well suprise, suprise.. It was realy easy, and quick, I sent out a few bid request, but was still getting high quotes. Just when I thought I was gonna take a road trip, I received the bid I was waiting for, and after checking him out I felt great about it.
Both of us are laid back, easy going and he understood my concern for her mental health and her size. Said no crate needed she would have the whole back seat, ride in a/c luxery. We talked about the fact I have never met her, did not know her personality, just that she was young, probably scared and most mastiffs do not take change very well.
I later found out, she was a flea bitten, under weight mess, and he still loved on her, walked her, and brought her 13 hours in the SUV, fleas and all, lol.
My driver was great, answered this dog owners questions, understood my concerns with the strange personality of mastifs, and quirky 170lbs goof balls.
I will tell everybody about this site and make sure that all the breeders suggest it when shipping there "babies".
