Recently shipped a 1998 Ducati 916 SPS from Florida to Houston. I was a bit nervous about using UShip again based on my last experience moving a 1994 Kawasaki ZXR750R from Arizona. A great guy moved it with good communication but didn't have the right set-up and we damaged the bike fairing unloading - I said never again!
When I bought the Duc, I got quotes from the big shippers but found UShip bids were half the price and could pick / up deliver weeks earlier and to a better defined schedule. This time though I went with a provider who only ships bikes and took time to understand his set-up (TRIKE). Anyway, couldn't have been happier. Despite a three day delay because of an engine problem with his truck (s**t happens), he got the bike to me quickly. He had a great set-up for moving bikes and had spent time and money on what would work best for himself and the bikes he moved.
If you want to move a bike, do your research and use someone who is set up specifically for it and knows bikes! I didn't the first time around and leant my lesson. TRIKE was also the lowest bid (although a factor in my decision, I would have been prepared to use one of the big boys at significant extra cost to get my bike moved safely).
Thanks again TRIKE - great service.
