We had to ship our dog from TX, where we live now, to WI where we recently moved from. He was going to live with some family members there that could better care for him and him care for them.
The cost to fly him was $702 (because he needed a very large crate). The crate cost was $230 new, though I found one for $80 used. I would have had to drive 3 hours to take him to the airport and the receiving family would drive 2 hours to pick him up at the airport.
We got door-to-door service for $275!!! No crate needed - which we and the dog were very happy about! That is a savings of $507-$655 (depending on new or used crate)PLUS saved us the stress of crating the dog - and the time and gas money to drive a combined total of 5.5 hours.
What a GREAT deal!! I will certainly be using Uship if I need to ship things in the future! I am recommending it to all of my friends.
