This has been an excellent shipping experience right from the beginning. I had originally planned on going down to OR and getting the boat myself. As the time was getting nearer it was becoming obvious that I just wasn't going to have the time to take two weeks and go down to OR, get the boat, and drive back to AK. I had many people suggesting that I get it on a barge and bring it to Anchorage and I really thought that would be the cheapest way to ship the boat to AK. Then I came across UShip while searching the net for shipping companies and I thought 'what the heck, I'll give it a try'. It turned out great! I had competing bids through UShip, I got the boat up here for less than the barge would do it, and I got it delivered to Fairbanks where I live instead of Anchorage which is 400 miles from my home.
