I had a concrete pump trailer that I needed to get up the coast. I was once again going to drive down and pick it up, but was short on time, and even if I drove hard, I'd lose 4 to 5 days with the turnaround.
With fuel (empty truck down, pulling the load back), it cost me $600 plus each time...plus food and lodging and lost productivity.
Enter U-ship, which I had not heard of. First bid came in at $840, second one from the same shipper came in at $750 (he had hooked up another load going the same direction, lowering his costs).
Done deal, a no brainer. This was on Sunday: My load was picked up on Tuesday and was in my town on Wednesday night. It was loaded correctly, communication was as needed and the price was right.
After a little discussion, I find that they will ship just about anything; dogs, furniture, equipment. It's worth asking and they don't have the limitation that USPS, Fed Ex, UPS, etc have.
Glad I found it.
