When our only car broke down, my grandfather blessed my husband and me with a free car - the only problem was figuring out how to get it from his home in South Carolina to ours in Texas. I started out by comparing various shipping companies on my own, but it was overwhelming to say the least-- I had about 20 different "quotes" in my email, all of them offering slightly different services, some with guarantees, some not, some with insurance, some not, some were brokers, others were actual trucking companies. I was about to choose one when I checked their Better Business Bureau rating and saw that they had an "F" grade. Close call! Then I found UShip. What I liked about this service, was the feedback/references I could receive from other users to make me feel more comfortable with my service provider, the ultimate safety of the UShip contract, as well as the fact that the prices were in some cases more than $100 cheaper! I listed our car not knowing if I would receive any bids, and automatically received about five. Comparing them was still a hard decision, because I'm a detail person and tend to be skeptical. But I knew that whatever happened, UShip "had my back" so to speak if something went wrong. I chose Jerry (user: ineed2), because he had 41 feedback references and 100% positive. I felt I could trust him, based on that. He was a bit more expensive than my lowest bids, but when I asked him if he could lower his price, he came down $40! I also liked his profile, because he was "small business" and ran his own shipping service, had his own truck, and mentioned his sweet grandchildren - all of which made me feel like I was dealing with an individual and not some big company that was going to treat me like a number. I thought my grandpa's dirt/gravel/hilly road would be a problem, but Jerry made a way to get his truck down there and load the car, then delivered two days later directly to my door. Sigh of relief - we have a car! Thanks!
