This was a very stressful experience like always. I moved from North Carolina to Minnesota so I had to get my horse shipped up here. I have had him for 13 years since he was 5 months old and I was 5 at the time! Well I finally got a bid on uship that was very very reasonable so I took it. Turns out that the lady that usually drives had been on the road for 2 straight months!! So she had her son and his wife drive for a week. In a 1200 mile trip anything that can go wrong will!!!I was having trouble finding a vet to get out to my barn for a health certification because I am 1200 miles away so I thought my mom being in NC it would be easier for her to get the number and get a vet to the barn. I was wrong she called on Monday morning the week my horse was being picked up. And he was being picked up on Wednesday morning at 8. After 2 nights of no sleep we finally got a vet to come out at 9a.m. on the day he was being picked up. But luckily the transport companies truck had something wrong with it so they were fixing it to make sure nothing would go wrong once the horses were in the trailer.So the 8a.m. turned into 12:30a.m. thursday morning. That was after the truck got fixed the people got lost on the way to pick him up, they got stuck in 2 accidents, had trouble picking up and dropping off a horse in Kentucky, got stuck in a very bad storm in Indiana, got lost in Chicago (a very scary place to get lost in), but they finally made it in one piece. Those poor people! I have made the trip 3 times in the past 2 months and it is not a fun one. A 17 hr. drive can turn into a 36 with no problem! Anyway after about 54 hr drive they made it. My horse was so happy to not be moving, but the ride did not seem to bother him at all. They did a great job with him and I would gladly recommend them to anyone. They were such genuine people!
