My daughter is turning 3 on Monday. She really wanted a puppy - with no encouragement from me, naturally! :) I did some research and found that a boxer puppy was exactly what we needed. I shopped online with different breeders, and, living in Colorado, my selection was limited. I began to search outside of Colorado and that is where I came across Tiffany Hines. She is a breeder fom Missouri. Her pups were 8 weeks old and ready to move to new homes. And she was willing to ship them. (Again, my daughter's 3rd birthday is coming up in 2 days, so the timing was just right.) She was so kind in offering to deliver the puppy herself, if I paid for her family's travel expenses (hmm...she estimated US$1000.00 for her, her husband and two children. It would have been a lovely vacation, expense paid, for them!) I knew that there had to be a more reasonable option than that. Then I found uShip. I had never used a service such as this before, and I had my doubts about this puppy ever making it to my door. But my doubts were completely unfounded. In fact, since I never actually saw the puppy in person - only photos and a guarantee from Tiffany that she was a strong, healthy pup - I was completely shocked when the puppy got here and her shoulders, hips, ribs and spine were all protruding. She was so skinny that she looked malnourished. And she was so cold and shaking. But Jonathan, our puppy's fairy godfather, took extra-special care of her during the 2-day trip here. He obviously saw her condition and went to extra lengths to make her warm and comfortable and to feel safe. And, even though he didn't really have a say in whether the puppy stayed with me or not, he still seemed to check our family out, and the surroundings, to make sure that our little, skinny puppy would have a safe and happy home to live in. I just wonder, though: if he didn't approve of us, would he have rescued her again? He is a good guy and I am sure he would have done the right thing.
