I purchased a beautiful young Mother-to-be, a 5 yo Tennesse Walking Horse, when she was 4 weeks from delivery date. She had to be hauled through 3 states and I was unable to go get her. I have used large horse haulers before and was not looking forward to that process. I feared I would not be able to get her home before she foaled or the experience would be so traumatic she would go into labor during the haul. I pictured her in a filthy transfer lot, crowded in with scared horses, dying as she tried to give birth. I somehow stumbled upon uShip and figured it wouldn't hurt to try to find someone in this manner. So, I posted my ad, mentioning that she was in foal for the 1st time and 4 weeks from due date. I received several bids that were priced reasonable but I didn't get a warm fuzzy even though they had mostly positive feedback. Suddenly a question arose from a bidder and she indicated she was originally from my area and had driven these twisty, mountainous roads for years, pulling a horse trailer. That piqued my interest and within a few questions she placed a very low bid and I accepted. She had not used uShip before either. She could pick up Mama in less than a week and I was even invited to go along! I was not able to go but I did help her get some more uShips for the trip...she hauled 2 dogs and another horse as well as her own. She picked up Mama exactly on time and brought her straight home. They ran into terrible storms along the way but she found a safe, dry place to pull into to so they could wait out the storm (and do some grooming). A GLOWING pregnant Mama came off the trailer looking like she had spent 15 hours at an exclusive spa! Cheryl even provided a bed of fresh straw and was equipped with video camera "just in case". I have never had a horse hauled (pampered) in this manner and feel so blessed that I accepted her bid. Matter of fact, Cheryl and I are going to Silver Dollar City on Tuesday, and horseback riding before she leaves. uShip ROCKS!!!!!
