It was time to leave Kansas after an abusive marriage with the few precious things I had left: my dog, Kobie, 1000 lbs of personal belongings and my '95 Toyota. Since I would be going it alone, 1500 miles seemed impossible to drive to my new life with my best friend in Fayetteville, NC. Moving companies wanted an arm and a leg to ship my few belongings and I still had my dog and car to get to Fayetteville. Although my car was in good running condition, it could break down along the way and Kobie and I would be stuck in unfamiliar territory. Pet friendly hotels are few and far between. Then, my best friend did some research and found uShip online. At first I was a little skeptical, but I followed the prompts and answered the questions about what I wanted to ship and every night I would select shippers in hope of a response. I promptly received e-mails from shippers in which we could ask questions back and forth. First, JLC Packing responded and made a bid to carry Kobie and also offered to trailer my personal stuff for less than it would of cost to ship Kobie by plane. By air, I would have had to buy a kennel, drive 2 1/2 hrs to the airport, fly with her and then rent a car in Charlotte and drive 3 more hours. JLC packing arrived on time, proficently collected Kobie and her necessary documents and quickly hooked up the trailer and arrived a day ahead of schedule in Fayetteville. My best friend said Kobie was fine so, the drop off went as efficiently as the pick up. Next shipment for uShip is my car. I have already accepted a fair bid in the time frame I requested. Afterwards, I talked to Robert, the shipper, and he told me he could have taken everything with him in one trip. I listed everything on uShip and had to go with what I felt was a good deal at the time. God willing, my car will make it to its destination alright too. Yes, I will use uShip again.
