Finely, after a year of badgering, I talked my buddy into selling me his rusty old 1983 H-D FXR. We agreed on a price and I wired him the money. I knew I had to act fast before he changed his mind, but how was I going to find the time to get from Ft Smith, AR. to Hollywood, FL. and back on short notice. Like a lot of people who had never shipped a large item like this before, I assumed it would be prohibitively expensive. Dreading the almost 3000 mile round trip I decidede what the heck, I should at least look into shipping. After doing a web search several expensive choices came up. Then I saw uship. Never heard of them before, but the concept sounded good. I entered the site filled in the info and requested quotes from about half a dozen companies. Within about twelve hours I had a great quote from Rolling Thunder Motor Cycle Transportation Inc. It was much less than I would spend on gas to drive one way. Always being the sceptic I e-mailed RTMT and asked them what hidden charges would be involved? You know, fuel surcharges, loading and unloading charges, and things I could never even imagine. They said no additional charges, the price they quoted me was the total door to door, period. I asked how long before they could pick up the bike they said proably two weeks. I called my buddy told him I was arranging for transport and if he was going to change his mind than now was the time. He said, "Send them." I signed a contract with RTMT, and faxed it in. The next day my buddy got a call that they would be in his area in five days and I would have my bike in a week. The bike was picked up on Monday, Tuesday the driver called and told me he would be at my house Friday. The bike arrived Friday morning in the same condition it left FL. Fast, efficient and very resonably priced, it could not have been better service. I would definitely use Rolling Thunder agian, and would recommend them to everyone.
