I needed to ship a puppy from Louisiana to Michigan. This was a rescued dog that my sister had found in Louisiana but could not keep herself, with 2 teenagers, a toddler, their own dog, and a military husband. But this puppy immediately found a special place in her heart. When the animal shelter called to say that the puppy's time was up, she called me because she knew we were thinking of getting a dog. Of course I couldn't refuse. But our schedules could not be worked out to meet half-way, and a 20 hour drive each way with my own 3 kids didn't seem like an option. I found u-Ship and thought I'd give it a try. I ended up hearing from "jujubean" on a Thursday morning that she could meet us about an hour from my sister in Louisiana and then about 2 hours from me in Michigan for only $100 and the puppy would be riding in the cab of her truck. Everything else I had found was much more expensive than that. The catch was this would happen the next day. We finally worked out the details at 11 that night and she met my sister at noon the next morning. Now, anyone who has ever had a pet knows how they become a part of your family, and this had already happened in this case. My sister called me after she dropped off the dog and said how comfortable she felt with the situation, in spite of the tears she shed. Later that evening "jujubean" called me to let me know what an angel of a puppy I was getting. She was wonderful at putting me at ease with the whole situation. When I met her the next day I could tell how well she cared for my puppy. In fact I felt like I was taking the puppy away from his "mommy." They had obviously bonded in that 24 hour period. The best part was the timing. I had my suitcases packed and was planning on leaving the next day to make the trip myself (with my 3 kids) because they were on Spring Break. It would have cost me much more money and I would have spent all that time in the car! We ended up getting our dog quicker and a lot cheaper with u-Ship. A+
