Used Uship to get an exhaust from Scotland to south of England. Cheapest quote I got from Parcel Force was £60, instead accepted a quote of £30 (plus £2.99 fee) from uship.
Luckily everything has gone well, but I was a bit concerned when I realised that I wasn't sure who was actually delivering the parcel!
I accepted the offer from Vivaro (they are the brokers) Once they gave me a tracking number I realised it was linked to Paisley Freight, who have some dubious reviews online. However, it was a TNT guy who picked up the item. So, yeah, hard to tell who was actually doing the work when there are so many "middle men" involved in the process.
Overall very pleased and luckily everything went well!
