A scheduling conflict arose that could not be resolved I went to the house of pick up twice which is my fuel money and costs etc, I have arranged for pick up on Monday again out of good will. I can only do my part, if the other end doesn't answer the door when I knock, what can I do?

The service provider did not show up at agreed upon date and time incorrect phone number. been calling it for about 2 weeks.
Did not appear on the agreed date and time twice yet claiming he did. phone number given to him and asked him to call when he is at the doorstep. yet still nobody calls or knock on the door. waited him for two whole days at home.
refused to refund saying that he has spend them on fuel.
lose confidence hence pulling out of the deal. not gonna take risk as my item cost about a grand.
